A record of my journey towards Energy & Sustainability Consulting

Life happens Like everyone else, I experienced the pandemic at a critical juncture in my career, with unique circumstances: I relocated to a new city in the midst of a pandemic, which made it difficult to network and make new connections; in the meantime, it was about time for my career to kickstart, but COVID had to happen and hit us all at professional and personal levels. Despite of that, I was delighted to have been exposed to such uncertainty at this stage of my career and did my best to demonstrate & develop my adaptability and resilience.

In this article, let's talk about the way I've been utilizing and developing my skills while job searching, and how it was vital for my motivation and personal growth.

What I've been doing

My job search journey have been started a year ago. I have been to several interviews but I haven't yet found the right role for me. In the mix, I clearly recall encountering people who made me want to work with them, others made me want to work on the project, but others, they just made me run away.

During such a fuzzy situation and while the global disruptions that are occurring affected almost everyone's career plans and priorities of various seniority levels and in different ways, I saw unique opportunities to build resilience and shape my own future but also to influence others' for the better. I starting discovering myself and building projects. I took time to reflect on what I want from my career and in that process I was busy doing the following:

Identifying my pillars

Self awareness is a potential enabler — This is why I went back to the smallest detail in my career, from a very young age, to highlight the pillars on which my personal and professional life is relying on. I could say with confidence, that I have built 3 strong pillars on Technical Problem Solving, Strategic Planning & Management, and Business Development. Find here the 3 experiences that I value the most.

Building iDigitize Group

During a strong self-reflection initiative, I've picked 3 projects that I enjoy the most and to which I should fully commit. I ended up building iDigitize project that is demonstrating the combination of my pillars and keeps me moving forward to the type of activities I've always wanted to do. I took time to document some steps of this journey, here after some posts about that.

Self-training

My daily learning process is focused on Energy, Business, Growth and Humans in general. For example, I joined +20 online courses on LinekdIn, and some ongoing trainings on Forage. Now, I'm at the end of a virtual experience in Sustainability Consulting with Boston Consulting Broup (BCG). I have also launched a challenge to share articles in my blog about Energy Transition, ESG landscape and Sustainability reporting, as well as about career growth and evolution. These are ongoing projects that I have started: from bibliographic study, writing, editorial planning, to designing illustrations and infographics. I have a strong trigger and motivation behind that, and I believe that this is a meaningful journey that need to be scaled.

،،

Driven by decision-making challenges of high uncertainties and risks, I'm passionate about translating impact data into refined communications and strategy. I'm building a valuable expertise in consulting, sustainability initiatives, measuring footprints, and managing sustainability reporting. Through iDigitize Projects, I'm focusing on capitalizing on sustainability and helping SMEs develop their own sustainability roadmaps, but also to communicate about their efforts.

iDigitize: a Project in Progress

There is one thing that I know for sure, that keeps me moving in pursuit of my dreams; it's taking part of meaningful projects that inspire and help others solve their problems while enabling my full-potential. This is what led me down this journey to both understand and explain how and why a combination of my 3 pillars will lead to better success

Today, as I work on various projects, I'm looking to learn new lessons and better understand the sustainability system across the whole value chain, and I'm really pleased to share with you some of the ongoing initiatives that I'm working on.

iTEnergy

It's a consulting activity throughout which I'd like to develop an expertise in Planning, Project Management, Technology Intelligence and Sustainability to help SMEs predict and solve their most complex challenges.

FENNEC

Innovating solutions to solve technical problems is not enough to differentiate from the competition if you don't effectively communicate your efforts through each step of your strategy: for stakeholders & shareholders, employees, consumers, clients, partners and investors as well.

Today, I am developing service offers to help businesses explore their ESG impact and enhance their marketing strategies.

Non-profit initiatives

I am fueled by a desire to learn, and share what I'm learning with the young community, about leadership and personal development.

I am designing some initiatives to tackle some topics that are close to my heart, essentially to promote equality to basic things — from access to professional networks, to career education, and to career choice regardless of gender, nationality, or whether you come from emerging or developed countries.

PS: I'm happy to share that I am a Pioneer for Grenoble Alpes brand for territorial merketing throughout my own experience and point of view.

iDigitize Blog

The iDigitize Blog has been launched with a big desire to build a place where is collected intelligence and high quality reports about iDigitize values. Currently, I am sharing my knowledge on few topics where many topics are being prepared and will be shared asap. It's a long-term multilayered-project to which will be added a podcast project and discussions with experts in certain themes: the idea is to provide a peer-reviewed platform for sarters to learn and for experts to share their knowledge as well.

... these are the sort of projects that I would never force myself to do, or get tired of ! A combination of these projects woul litterally make my dream job. As a junior candidate, I am confident I can add value to roles in the Energy Management & Sustainability.

Why am I doing this?

Sometimes, showing examples is the best approach to explain something. Likewise, this article allows me to provide, through the projects I am working on, a better understanding of who I am and how I work, as well as to showcase my entrepreneurship mindset and my desire to always take on maningful challenges.

Securing a job was never among my priorities bacause my journey goes way beyong that. It's about having the ability to do something that resonates with me:

building solutions for other companies to be more sustainable & energy efficient,

building & improving products & processes,

transform impact data on insightful tools to help decision-makers,

helping people getting their job done,

share knowledge with others,

enable equality and access to fundamental rights...

... that sort of things !

Let's collaborate on some pioneering projects !
